Background
The Sanara Collective was established in North America by Daniella Hunter and Charlie Stuart Gay, with its first resort developed and built in Tulum, Mexico, opening in 2014, allowing guests and visitors to connect with the essence of the Sanara philosophy. Featuring 19 suites, wellness centre & spa, beachfront yoga shala, and a beach deck restaurant with an acclaimed menu concept, the hotel received global recognition, both from guests and media, and was awarded #3 in the Top 150 Greatest Hotels in the World’ by Harpers Bazaar, amongst other accolades. Sanara experienced significant and consistent commercial success and discerning guests appreciated the exclusive hosting, yet low key approach to wellness, and the impeccable attention to detail, resulting in repeat bookings year after year from a loyal following who trusted the care that the brand and its team provided.
In addition to the hotel business, Daniella and Charlie, along with their management team successfully expanded into the US market with the launch of the hotel’s integrated F&B concept, Real Coconut Kitchen, as a stand alone restaurant in Malibu, California, full service catering operations, and the accompanying food product line, which was distributed across over 4000 locations in North America.
Along this journey, the Sanará brand and founders have garnered an extensive international database and loyal community following over the years, which continues to actively engage via social media, traditional marketing channels, and Whatsapp groups.
Having returned to the UK at the end of 2023, with the intention to expand the Sanará brand into Europe, Daniella and Charlie have felt drawn to put focus into their home region in the Ascot/Windsor, and London area, before seeking opportunities and locations further afield, and are identifying select locations to either build, or refurbish existing properties to suit the Sanará offering and the needs of the immediate and the wider community.
